East Devon District Council acquired a new area of land for local people to enjoy. This first new public space marks an important landmark in creating the Clyst Valley Regional Park, which stretches from National Trust Killerton to Clyst St Mary near the Exe Estuary. 
 
We expect to welcome the public to the site during summer 2023 as part of organised visits to explore its history and wildlife. 
 
The land has been paid for by money from developers, known as Section 106 payments and the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), as part of their obligations when building much-needed homes for local people. 
 
The first step to establishing the new green space is to seek the views of local people before applying for planning permission to change use of the land from agricultural to public open space and install a small car park.
